Obverse description The silver centre features the Mexican national coat of arms — an eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus, devouring a serpent — rendered in high relief against a plain field. The aluminium bronze outer ring bears the national legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcing along the upper periphery. Decorative laurel and oak branches flank the base of the coat of arms, spanning the inner edge of the ring.
