| Reverse description | The reverse presents a maritime composition depicting a period sailing vessel and a lifeboat upon open seas in the upper portion of the field. Below this nautical scene, the celebrated Peral submarine is rendered in profile, commemorating the pioneering Spanish electric submarine designed by Isaac Peral. The operating years 1887 and 1889 appear to the right, while the issue year 2000 and the mint mark are inscribed in the lower left. The encircling legend RELIQUIAS DE LA NAVEGACION and the inscription SUBMARINO PERAL complete the design. |
