Obverse description The silver centre features the Mexican national coat of arms in high relief, depicting an eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, grasping a serpent in its beak and talons. The design is rendered in fine detail with carefully engraved feathering on the spread wings. The aluminium bronze outer ring bears the curved legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS along the upper periphery, with an ornamental laurel and oak wreath motif along the lower border.
