| Obverse description | The Mexican national arms occupy the bimetallic centre field, featuring the golden eagle displayed in left profile, perched upon a prickly pear cactus rising from a rocky islet, grasping a serpent in its beak and talons. The device is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. An ornamental wreath of oak and laurel branches frames the lower portion of the design. The encircling legend reads ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS along the upper periphery of the silver ring. |

| Reverse description | A detailed panoramic view depicts the historic Fundidora ironworks complex at right, representing the industrial heritage of Nuevo León, with the iconic silhouette of the Cerro de la Silla mountain range rising prominently in the background. The composition is rendered in high-relief proof finish within the bimetallic field. The state name, denomination, date, and mint mark are inscribed along the periphery and within the lower field. Decorative elements frame the design in keeping with the series' artistic style. |

Part of Mexico's ongoing series celebrating individual states, this issue honors Nuevo León — the industrial heartland anchored by Monterrey, which by the early 2000s accounted for roughly a quarter of Mexico's total export manufacturing output. The Casa de Moneda produced these in strictly limited proof quantities, with the bimetallic format requiring separate centrifugal casting of the gold core before pressing into the silver collar — a process that made production runs of this type inherently small relative to standard commemorative issues.
