Additional information

Part of Mexico's ongoing series celebrating individual states, this issue honors Nuevo León — the industrial heartland anchored by Monterrey, which by the early 2000s accounted for roughly a quarter of Mexico's total export manufacturing output. The Casa de Moneda produced these in strictly limited proof quantities, with the bimetallic format requiring separate centrifugal casting of the gold core before pressing into the silver collar — a process that made production runs of this type inherently small relative to standard commemorative issues.
