Beschrijving keerzijde The silver centre depicts a panoramic composition juxtaposing the rugged sierra landscape of Nuevo León — prominently featuring the Cerro de la Silla mountain range in the left field — with a detailed rendering of an industrial steel plant, referencing the state's renowned metallurgical heritage, occupying the right portion of the field. The denomination $100 and the date 2007 are inscribed in the upper central field. The mint mark Mo appears to the right within the silver centre near the ring border. The aluminium bronze outer ring carries the legend ESTADO DE NUEVO LEÓN along the upper arc.

Aanvullende informatie

Issued as part of México's long-running series commemorating the country's 31 states and the Federal District, this Nuevo León piece reflects the political calculus behind the program's sequencing — state releases were staggered across multiple years beginning in 2003, with the complete run finishing in 2009. The heavy silver centre made these coins immediately attractive to speculators and collectors at issue, meaning most were pulled from circulation almost instantly.

Banco de México produced both proof and circulation strikes. The latter are genuinely difficult to find with intact ring-to-core bonding, as the bimetallic join on the larger 100-peso format is prone to separation with even modest handling.
