Reverse description A right-facing portrait bust of Cuban national hero José Martí dominates the central field, rendered in high relief consistent with piedfort striking. The motto PATRIA Y LIBERTAD (Homeland and Freedom) arcs along the upper periphery, while the issue year appears in the lower exergue. The mintmark is positioned to the left of the portrait, with the weight designation 1 OZ and fineness 0.999 inscribed on the sides of the field, accompanied by the legend ORO FINO (fine gold). The design is attributed to engraver Belisario Álvarez Collado.
