Obverse description A classical allegorical female figure seated at left, holding a scroll and resting her arm upon a terrestrial globe, rendered in fine intaglio engraving within an ornate guilloche border. The bank title appears in elaborate script lettering at centre, with the date 'January 1, 1912' and place of issue 'Manila, P.I.' inscribed at lower right. A circular red seal of the Bank of the Philippine Islands is affixed to the right, with a red serial number appearing both at upper right and lower left.

Reverse description The reverse is printed entirely in green, centred on a large intaglio vignette of a decorative cartouche flanked by laurel branches and scroll ornaments, bearing the denomination in bold lettering. The design is framed by an intricate guilloche border with denomination numerals '100' at each corner, and the issuer's name divided between the top and bottom margins.
