| 备注 |
The Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires was the dominant financial institution in Argentina through the second half of the nineteenth century, and its notes frequently circulated well beyond provincial borders — effectively functioning as a national currency during periods when the Argentine Confederation lacked a coherent federal monetary structure. The 1869 dating places this note in a period of relative institutional stability for the bank, between the chaos of the 1860s provincial conflicts and the speculative boom that would eventually force a suspension of convertibility in 1876.
American Bank Note Company's involvement with South American issuers was extensive by this point, and the guilloche work on this series reflects the high-security intaglio standards ABNC applied consistently to its export contracts. PS#520 is not among the more commonly encountered survivals from this issuer.
