Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring the traditional design with a shield surmounted by the Phrygian cap on a pole, flanked by an oak branch and laurel branch below, with a rising sun in the background. The curved legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery. The face value 100 PESOS appears in the lower portion of the field, with the weight designation 1 OZ. and fineness AU 0.999 inscribed on either side of the arms.
