Obverse lettering EL BANCO DE LONDRES Y MEXICO SOCIEDAD ANONIMA PAGARÁ EN LA CIUDAD DE MEXICO CIEN PESOS Á LA VISTA AL PORTADOR EN EFECTIVO. MEXICO, _____ 19____
(Translation: The Bank of London and Mexico, anonymous society, will pay in Mexico City One Hundred Pesos on sight to the bearer in cash.)
Reverse description Printed in black and red-orange. A large central vignette in fine intaglio engraving renders the Mexican eagle — perched on a cactus and gripping a serpent — set within a circular frame. Flanking the central vignette are two dark counter panels each bearing the numeral "100" in bold letterpress. The entire field is covered with an intricate red-orange guilloche underprint of rosettes, lathework, and scalloped borders. The printer's imprint "AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY, NEW YORK" appears in small type below the central vignette.
