Obverse description The Dominican Republic national coat of arms is displayed prominently in the centre of the field, featuring a quartered shield with a central cross, flanked by a laurel branch to the left and a palm frond to the right, with a ribbon scroll above bearing the motto DIOS PATRIA LIBERTAD and a further scroll below inscribed REPUBLICA DOMINICANA. The legend REPUBLICA DOMINICANA arcs along the upper rim, while the weight denomination 155.53 grs. and fineness .999 appear in the lower field to either side, flanked by five-pointed stars. The face value 100 PESOS is inscribed in large characters along the lower periphery, with a small mint mark visible above.
