| Obverse description | The obverse features the Mexican national coat of arms in the silver centre, depicting a Mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, devouring a serpent, rendered in high relief with fine detail. The scene is set within the bimetallic format, with the aluminium bronze outer ring displaying the arc legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS along the upper periphery. Flanking the base of the central device are decorative oak and laurel branches, which extend into the outer ring and are struck in the gold-toned alloy.
