Obverse description The silver centre displays the Mexican national arms in high relief: an eagle displayed facing left, perched upon a cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, grasping a serpent in its beak and talons. The device is rendered in fine detail, with the cactus pads and surrounding vegetation clearly articulated. The aluminium bronze outer ring bears the arc legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS along the upper periphery, flanked at the base by two laurel branches tied with a ribbon.
