| Reverse description | The reverse displays, within the gold centre, a detailed rendition of the famous jade funerary mask from Calakmul, Campeche, a masterpiece of Classic Maya craftsmanship, shown facing forward with characteristic mosaic-style decorative elements. The denomination '$100' and date '2006' appear in the gold field alongside the mask, with the mint mark 'Mo' also present. The silver outer ring carries the inscriptions 'ESTADO DE CAMPECHE' arching across the upper portion and 'MASCARA DE JADE • CALAKMUL, CAMPECHE' along the lower arc, all lettered in raised Latin characters. The frosted relief of the mask against the mirror fields exemplifies the high-quality proof finish of this commemorative state series. |
