| Obverse description | The obverse features the national arms of Mexico rendered in high-relief proof finish, occupying the gold centre of this bimetallic issue. The arms depict the Mexican eagle displayed in left profile, perched upon a cactus and grasping a serpent in its beak and talons, the whole surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel branches.
