| Beschrijving keerzijde | The silver centre displays a detailed frontal representation of the pre-Columbian jade funerary mask discovered at the Maya archaeological site of Calakmul, Campeche, rendered in high relief with mosaic-like stone segments visible across the face, headdress, and ear ornaments. The denomination $100 appears to the left of the mask and the date 2006 to the right, with the mint mark Mo below to the lower left of the mask. Part of Mexico's long-running "States of the Federation" series, this issue commemorates Campeche, one of only two Mexican states whose historic center carries UNESCO World Heritage status — recognized in 1999 for its intact system of 17th-century military fortifications built to repel repeated pirate attacks, including raids by Laurens de Graaf and other Caribbean buccaneers who sacked the city multiple times between the 1560s and 1680s.
The bimetallic format was used consistently across all 32 state issues in the series, with each released on a rolling schedule between 2004 and 2009.
