100 Pesos Bolivianos Two currencies on Back

Bolivia's currency situation in the early 1960s was still sorting itself out after the catastrophic hyperinflation of the mid-1950s, when the boliviano lost so much value that a 1956 stabilization program — backed by the IMF and the United States — effectively rebuilt the monetary system from scratch. The 1962 series emerged from that restructuring, and the "two currencies on back" designation reflects a transitional annotation acknowledging the old boliviano alongside the peso boliviano introduced in 1963 at a conversion rate of 1,000 to 1.
