Obverse description The silver centre field bears the Mexican national coat of arms, depicting a Mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus, devouring a serpent, all rendered in high relief. The outer aluminium bronze ring carries the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arching along the upper periphery, flanked at the base by an ornamental laurel and olive wreath tied with a ribbon. The design follows the standard national arms type used on Mexican coinage from 1992 onward.
