100 Pesos argentinos

The "pesos argentinos" denomination — distinct from the peso and the peso ley that preceded it — was introduced in June 1983 as part of a redenomination that lopped four zeros off the collapsing peso ley. It lasted barely two years. By mid-1985, inflation had already rendered the entire series obsolete, and the austral replaced it under the Austral Plan at a conversion rate of 1 austral to 1,000 pesos argentinos.

Casa de Moneda's output during this period was under sustained pressure from accelerating print runs. Notes from this series frequently show uneven ink distribution as a result.
