Issued to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Banco de México's founding in 1925, this note was printed in-house — the central bank has operated its own printing facility since 1969, one of relatively few in Latin America to do so. The commemorative release ran alongside the regular 100 peso series, meaning both circulated simultaneously and the anniversary note saw genuine use rather than being treated purely as a collectible issue.
Pick 113 is sometimes confused with the near-contemporary P#107 and P#108 series; the anniversary designation is the distinguishing factor, not any dramatic redesign.
