Argentina's central bank issued this commemorative in 2012 to mark sixty years since Eva Perón's death in July 1952. It circulated as legal tender alongside the regular series — not a collector-only item — which means worn examples turn up readily in circulated holdings. The denomination was deliberate: 100 pesos placed her portrait on a note with enough face value to actually pass through hands, a political choice as much as a monetary one, made during a period when the Kirchner government was actively rehabilitating Peronist iconography at the state level.
Casa de Moneda in Buenos Aires printed the entire run domestically. The OVI ink patch is the most technically current security feature in the set.
