Obverse description Black intaglio print on brown-orange underprint, with a miners vignette at left, an allegorical composition with two female figures flanking the national Arms at center, and a portrait of General Francisco de Paula Santander at right. The issuing bank title and place-date inscription appear across the upper portion, with the denomination text CIEN PESOS in bold lettering at center. The printer's imprint of the American Bank Note Co., New York is present in the lower margin.
