Reverse description A centrally positioned Frailejón plant (Espeletia grandiflora) dominates the field, depicted in fine engraved detail with its characteristic elongated leaves radiating outward from a stout, woolly trunk, and small daisy-like flowers visible among the foliage. Radiating lines in the lower field suggest the high-altitude páramo landscape in which the plant is endemic. The common name 'FRAILEJÓN' is inscribed along the upper left, with the scientific name 'ESPELETIA GRANDIFLORA' in smaller lettering below it. The design is enclosed by a raised bead border consistent with the obverse.
