Obverse description Red-brown intaglio print on a fine guilloche underprint. An oval vignette at right carries a bust portrait of General José de San Martín in military uniform, facing left. A large blank oval at left is reserved for the watermark, with the denomination numeral 100 and the legend CIEN PESOS centred below the issuer title; two facsimile signatures of bank officials appear along the lower margin above a micro-text security band.

Reverse description Red-brown. A large central vignette reproduces the painting "Segunda Fundación de Buenos Aires" (Second Foundation of Buenos Aires) by José Moreno Carbonero, portraying Spanish conquistadors and indigenous figures in a historical scene. The denomination and country title are printed in the upper and lower margins, framed by ornamental guilloche borders.
