The upper portion carries the inscription 'PHILIPPINE NATIONAL BANK' in an arc, with 'Emergency Circulating Note of 1942 / Issued by Authority of the President of the Philippines' above the central text block reading 'THE Philippine National Bank WILL PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND ONE HUNDRED PESOS In Lawful Currency of the Philippines / ILOILO CURRENCY COMMITTEE.'
