Obverse description Portrait vignette of José G. Artigas at left, with the face value of 100 Pesos at center framed by guilloche patterning, and the issuer's full title inscribed across the upper portion of the note. The composition follows a classical engraved style typical of early twentieth-century South American currency produced by Waterlow & Sons.

Reverse description The Uruguayan coat of arms occupies the central vignette, flanked symmetrically on both sides by large numeral "100" counters with "PESOS" beneath, all set within an elaborate guilloche underprint in blue. The issuer's name arcs around the upper and lower borders of the central arms in two registers, encircling the composition in the manner characteristic of Waterlow & Sons engraving of the period.
