备注

Banco Salvadoreño was one of several private commercial banks operating in El Salvador under the 1880 banking law, which permitted note-issuing privileges to chartered institutions. That system persisted until 1934, when the newly created Banco Central de Reserva assumed exclusive right of issue and private bank notes were called in. A 1913 high-denomination note from this issuer would have seen limited everyday circulation by nature — 100 pesos was serious commercial money, used in trade settlements and interbank transactions rather than retail exchange.

The American Bank Note Company held long-standing relationships with Central American banks throughout this period, supplying security-printed notes across the region from its New York plant. At this denomination, surviving examples are genuinely rare.
