Obverse description At left, a vignette portrait of Bernardo O'Higgins; at centre, a standing allegorical figure; at right, two allegorical female figures, one holding balance scales and the other bearing a sword alongside a shield charged with the Chilean coat of arms, rendered without the flanking animals. The design is executed in fine intaglio engraving with intricate guilloche underprint work throughout.
