| 备注 |
The Provincia de Buenos Ayres operated its own note-issuing apparatus largely independent of the national government — a consequence of the prolonged political standoff between Buenos Aires province and the Argentine Confederation that had only formally resolved in 1862. Provincial paper continued circulating well into the 1870s, backed by the Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires rather than any federal authority.
The American Bank Note Company engraved and printed this series in New York, as they did for much of Latin American paper currency in this period. ABNC's involvement was essentially a guarantee of anti-counterfeiting sophistication that local South American printers could not yet match.
