| Описание аверса | The nickel-brass center features the stylized logo of the Banco Central de Chile — a modernist condor in flight rendered with curved lines and a stippled field evoking mountain peaks — occupying the upper portion of the inner disc. Below the logo, the large bold legend 'CIEN' is prominently displayed across the center of the field, with 'años' inscribed in smaller lettering beneath it. The mint mark 'S' (Casa de Moneda de Chile) appears at the base of the center disc. The surrounding copper-aluminium-nickel ring bears the circular legend 'REPÚBLICA DE CHILE' along the upper arc and 'BANCO CENTRAL DE CHILE 1925 · 2025' along the lower arc, with two raised dots serving as separators. |

The Banco Central de Chile was established in August 1925 under pressure from the Kemmerer Mission — the U.S. advisory team led by economist Edwin Kemmerer that restructured monetary institutions across five South American nations in rapid succession during the 1920s. Chile was the first of that cohort, and the bank's founding was explicitly modeled on U.S. Federal Reserve architecture. A century of institutional continuity in Latin America is genuinely unusual; most of the region's central banks have been dissolved, reconstituted, or stripped of independence at least once in the intervening decades.
