Obverse description Unadorned left-facing effigy of King Juan Carlos I occupying the central field, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail to the hair and facial features. The circumferential legend reads JUAN CARLOS · REY DE ESPAÑA in incuse Latin capitals, running from the lower left around the upper periphery to the lower right. The date 1975, being the die year, appears in the lower field between two raised dots. A fine toothed border frames the entire design.
