Additional information

Macao's lunar series patacas were issued under the Monetary Authority following the 1999 handover to China, with the territory retaining its own currency and issuing authority under the "one country, two systems" arrangement. The Pig is the twelfth and final animal of the twelve-year cycle, making 2007 issues the close of the first complete lunar series produced under Chinese administration.
