| Obverse description | Central depiction of the façade of the Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral, Macau's most iconic landmark, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The Latin legend 'MACAU CHINA' curves along the upper right periphery, while Chinese characters reading '澳門中國' are inscribed vertically along the left side of the design. The date '2007' appears in the lower exergue. A beaded border frames the entire composition. |

Macao's lunar series patacas were issued under the Monetary Authority following the 1999 handover to China, with the territory retaining its own currency and issuing authority under the "one country, two systems" arrangement. The Pig is the twelfth and final animal of the twelve-year cycle, making 2007 issues the close of the first complete lunar series produced under Chinese administration.
