Obverse description The crowned arms of Macau occupy the central field, depicting the Portuguese royal shield supported by two winged angelic figures in robes: the dexter supporter holds a cross staff and the sinister supporter holds an orb. A royal crown surmounts the shield. A scrolled ribbon below the supporters bears the motto in Latin script reading 'CIDADE DO NOME DE DEUS DE MACAU' and 'NAO HA OUTRA MAIS LEAL'. The legend 'MACAU' arcs along the upper periphery in large capital letters, flanked by a ring of eight-pointed stars, with the date '1980' displayed prominently along the lower rim. A small mint mark appears below the date.

Reverse description The central field features a high-relief depiction of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King of Chinese mythology, rendered in a dynamic composition as he flies through stylized clouds while brandishing his legendary staff. The figure is dressed in traditional robes and a characteristic headband, conveying movement and vitality in the Chinese artistic tradition. Two five-pointed stars flank the upper field. The numeral '100' is inscribed at the top of the field, with the Chinese characters '壹佰圓' (one hundred patacas) to the left and '澳門' (Macau) to the right. The denomination 'PATACAS' curves along the lower periphery in large Latin capital letters.
