| 备注 |
The Banco da China began issuing Macanese patacas in 1995, joining the Banco Nacional Ultramarino as a co-issuing authority — an arrangement that survived the 1999 handover and continues under the current administrative framework. Two private banks issuing the same legal tender currency in parallel is uncommon globally, and Macau remains one of the few jurisdictions where it has persisted into the twenty-first century.
The 2008 series date coincides with the year Macau's gaming revenue overtook Las Vegas, a fiscal shift that had real consequences for currency demand and note turnover rates in the territory. Hongkong Printing Press, a subsidiary of Hong Kong Note Printing Limited, handled production throughout the run.
