Obverse description The obverse presents a vignette of the Grand Mosque of Oualata, one of Mauritania's ancient ksour settlements, set against a multicolour guilloche underprint. Arabic inscriptions identify the issuing authority and denomination, with the numeral value and ornamental geometric patterning characteristic of the polymer series.

Reverse description The reverse carries an intaglio-printed vignette of Mauritanian cattle in a pastoral setting, occupying the central field against a green and multicolour guilloche underprint. At upper left, the national emblem with crescent and star appears within a circular vignette. To the right, a large transparent see-through window incorporates a crescent-and-open-book motif as a combined optical security element, with the large numeral '100' printed in the centre field.
