| Obverse description | The Bhutanese national emblem occupies the central field, rendered in high relief within a raised circular border: two fearsome dragons (Druk) in sinuous confrontation flank a central Dharma wheel (dharmachakra), with a jewel at the base. The surrounding legend reads '1984' at the top and 'BHUTAN' to the right in Latin script, with '100' below and the denomination 'NGULTRUM' to the left, also in Latin. Dzongkha script inscriptions appear in the upper left and lower right of the border area. The Valcambi mint mark (CHI) is visible in the lower portion of the inner circle. |

| Reverse description | Three Bhutanese women dressed in traditional woven kira garments are depicted in the central field, bent forward and engaged in agricultural labour, planting or tending young rice shoots in a paddy field. The scene is stylised and rendered with fine detail, evoking the traditional role of women in Bhutanese rural life. Surrounding the upper portion of the field, a continuous legend in Dzongkha script arcs from left to right. The lower outer legend in Latin script reads 'UNITED NATIONS DECADE FOR WOMEN', arranged along the bottom rim. |
