Obverse description The obverse is printed in rose-red monochrome and carries at upper centre the inscription VIETNAM DAN CHU CONG HOA within a decorative border. To the left, an oval vignette contains a portrait of Ho Chi Minh facing slightly left. At centre, a text panel flanked by two phoenix figures bears handwritten-style signatures above multiple lines of Vietnamese text. To the right, the denomination MỘT TRĂM is rendered in bold letterpress within a guilloche-framed panel. The lower margin bears the legend GIẤY BẠC VIỆT NAM within an ornamental frame.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in the same rose-red monochrome and carries Chinese characters across the top reading 越南民主共和. At upper left and right the numeral 100 appears, with serial prefix KTQ at left and a serial number at right. At centre, two full-length figures flank a large decorative vignette of rice sheaves: a male worker at left holding a hammer and a female peasant at right wearing a conical hat. The centre panel bears the inscriptions GIẤY BẠC VIỆT NAM in large lettering above a block of Vietnamese text. At the base, the denomination MỘT TRĂM ĐỒNG is inscribed across the full width, flanked by Chinese numeral panels.
