Armand Colin, better known as a Paris-based academic publisher, produced these educational banknotes as classroom teaching aids — part of a broader French tradition of using facsimile currency to teach arithmetic and monetary literacy in primary schools. The dual denomination labeling reflects the 1960 redenomination, when France converted at 100 old francs to 1 new franc, and Armand Colin updated their school money series to show both values simultaneously rather than reprint the entire range.
