| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field displays a raised representation of a postage stamp bearing a stylised bird perched on bamboo alongside the inscription '2008 TAIPEI' and decorative scrollwork, rendered on a frosted background. Below the stamp vignette appears a circular postmark device with a Chinese character and horizontal cancellation lines extending to the right. The denomination '100圓' is prominently inscribed at the bottom of the field, flanked by the purity mark 'Ag999' to the lower left and the weight indication '1 oz.' to the lower right. The broad outer legend, arched around the upper periphery in Latin script on a polished proof border, reads '21st Asian International Stamp Exhibition'. The rim is decorated with a continuous beaded border. |

Taiwan's Stamp EXPO 2008 was held in Taipei that August, marking the island's first time hosting a major international philatelic exhibition. The silver commemorative issued alongside it was part of a broader Taiwanese strategy during the 2000s of using numismatic releases to assert cultural presence on the world stage — a delicate exercise given the ROC's exclusion from most intergovernmental bodies.
Y#584 is one of several collector-oriented silver issues from the Central Bank during this period that saw limited secondary market movement outside Taiwan itself.
