| Opmerkingen |
Monopoly's original 1935 edition was published by Parker Brothers, which Hasbro did not acquire until 1991. The denomination structure of that first commercial set was inherited from Charles Darrow's homemade prototype, itself adapted from the Landlord's Game patented by Elizabeth Magie in 1903. The $100 bill was the highest denomination in the original run — $500 and $1000 notes came later.
Not legal tender in any jurisdiction, though a surprising number have been submitted to grading services in earnest.
