Reverse description Plain square field with rounded corners and a central square hole, largely devoid of design. Below the hole, a single cursive Chinese character 秀 (Hidehira) is cast in moderate relief, representing the official authenticating signature of Fujiwara no Hidehira. To the lower left of the character, a small circular seal impression is visible in the field, serving as an additional mark of authority. The surfaces show the characteristic rough texture of cast lead production.
