(Translation: Chikuzen Currency)
Reverse description Oval cast copper flan with a raised border and central square hole, mirroring the form of the obverse. Two large Chinese characters, 當百 (meaning 'worth one hundred'), are disposed vertically in the field — 當 above the central aperture and 百 below — rendered in a bold, stylised clerical script with pronounced decorative brushstroke flourishes. The expansive, unadorned field accentuates the commanding size of the denomination inscription, consistent with the visual conventions of late Edo-period domain mon coinage.
