备注

Nepal's first modern paper currency series came directly out of the political rupture of 1951, when the Rana oligarchy — which had monopolized power for over a century — was overthrown and King Tribhuvan reasserted royal authority with Indian backing. The new government needed instruments of a functioning state quickly, and this series was part of that effort.

The 100 Mohru is the highest denomination in the initial issue. Nepal had no domestic printing infrastructure at the time; the notes were produced abroad, a practical constraint that shaped the entire series.
