| Opmerkingen |
Brazil's Thesouro Nacional relied heavily on British contract printers through the 1930s, and Waterlow & Sons produced multiple successive printings of this series — the "17th print" designation reflects that cumulative ordering system rather than any design revision. Waterlow's contracts with South American governments were extensive during this period, and the firm handled similar work for several neighboring republics simultaneously.
The Mil Réis system itself was already on borrowed time by 1936. Brazil replaced it with the Cruzeiro in 1942, which means notes from this final phase of Thesouro Nacional issues had a circulation window of under six years before becoming inconvertible.
