Rückseitenbeschreibung Executed in green, yellow, and blue by lithography, the reverse is centred on a three-line panel reading 'BONUS DO THESOURO / DO ESTADO DE S. PAULO / PRÓ CONSTITUIÇÃO', framed within a decorative border. The numeral '10' appears as a countervalue element on both the left and right sides of the central inscription. The overall design is typographic in character, relying on colour contrasts and guilloche-style ornamental devices rather than pictorial vignettes.

Anmerkungen

The Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932 pitted the state of São Paulo against the federal government of Getúlio Vargas, and the state treasury issued these bonds — called "bônus" — to fund its own war effort after the federalized banking system became inaccessible. Companhia Melhoramentos, a São Paulo printing firm better known for paper manufacturing and school textbooks than security printing, produced the notes locally under wartime conditions; the 2nd print designation reflects a subsequent run ordered as the conflict dragged into its third month.

The revolution was crushed by October 1932, and redemption of these instruments became a politically fraught process under the Vargas government.
