Additional information

This issue was part of Finland's long-running commemorative program marking the centenary of various national institutions and cultural achievements. The Bank of Finland used .830 fineness — a distinctly Nordic standard, lower than sterling but with deep roots in Scandinavian minting tradition — rather than the more internationally common .925, keeping production costs manageable for a circulation-intended commemorative.

KM#75 had a mintage of 50,000 pieces, modest even by Finnish commemorative standards of the period.
