Finland was still a Grand Duchy of Russia when this note was printed, and the trilingual title — Finnish, Swedish, and Russian — reflects that awkward administrative reality directly. The gold designation ("kullassa / i guld / zolotom") wasn't decorative phrasing; Finnish markka notes of this period were explicitly redeemable in gold coin, a convertibility the bank maintained until the First World War forced suspension in 1914.
