| 正面铭文 | FINLAND SIBELIUS |
| 背面描述 | The denomination 100 MK is inscribed in a hand-drawn script style along the upper portion of the field. The central field is filled with a detailed reproduction of a manuscript musical score, depicting the opening bars of Sibelius's tone poem Finlandia, with multiple staves, notes, and dynamic markings rendered with great intricacy. The date 1999 appears in large numerals along the lower rim. Mint marks P and V appear discreetly within the musical score field. |

This issue was struck to mark the final years before Finland adopted the euro, making it one of the last commemorative markka denominations ever produced. Sibelius had been the face of the 100 markkaa banknote for decades, so placing him on a silver coin of the same denomination carried a deliberate resonance as the currency wound down.
Finland joined the eurozone on January 1, 1999 — the same year this coin was struck — fixing the markka irrevocably at 5.94573 to the euro before physical notes and coins were withdrawn in 2002.
