| Reverse description | The reverse presents a dramatic close-up portrait of Aleksis Kivi, the celebrated Finnish novelist and playwright, rendered in high relief as a textured, sculptural effigy occupying the right half of the coin's field. The portrait, modeled in an expressive, impressionistic style, depicts Kivi with a full beard and naturalistic facial features emerging from a richly worked surface.
